hear Trey I think he's doing a great job
I think he's humanizing him but he's
also trying to get a lot of information
about his own client about Jeffrey
Williams about young th do you think he
might be doing that because he doesn't
want him to go on the stand himself he
wants to protect his client he wants to
get as much information as possible
about their lives from this
defendant yeah ex exactly to to an
extent that always a possibility and
that's something as a defense attorney
you want to leave open the option of
whether your client needs to take a
stand or not it's it's often not decided
pre-trial whether a client's going to
take the stand you want to see how the
trial develops but uh to hearken back to
what Bob was saying earlier this is
absolutely a brilliant cross-examination
by this defense attorney he's really
humanizing uh this individual but he's
also making this this witness Mr St
a victim of his circumstances and so
just like this Mr Stevens had to take a
plea for the sixth grade science
experiment you know just because he
accidentally replicated the the
chemicals
incorrectly I think what they'll say is
that so too he's been railroaded into
this police so instead of having to
attack Mr Stevens as being a liar and
making up these stories about the
defendant they can actually show he's
just a victim of the circumstances he
took the best deal he could get and he's
saying what he needs to say in order to
get that deal and I think that's exactly
the defense we see being lined up right
now and it's it's being done very well
